Members of the Chino Basque Community, Candida Echeverria, Louise Camou,Aline Anema, Jeanette Bidart, and Marianna Etcheverria, along with friend Olga Belmudes,participated in the annual Family Fun Festival on October 5, 2019.
The fundraiser benefited Anthesis, a local non-profit supporting adults with [dis]abilities.

The Basque Educational Organization (BEO) will be hosting its biennial Basque Cultural Day, “Basque Footprints in California”,
this month in San Francisco at the Basque Cultural Center.

2:00 PM | The Long Walk: Sheep Transhumance from Kern County to the High Sierra Presented by: Steven Gamboa, Steve Bass, and Janet Barreneche; artwork by Pat Fernandez
3:15 PM | Early Basque Presence in Northern California Presented by: Nancy Zubiri
4:15 PM | The Greatest Generation: Bay Area Basques in WWII Presented by: Pedro Oiarzabal
6:00 PM | Aperitif
7:00 PM | Dinner + entertainment by San Francisco’s Zazpiak Bat dance group

CBC members, Mike Aphessetche and Jake Jaureguy along with coach, Denis Petrissans,
will attend the Coupe Du Monde De Pelote Basque
in Pau, France representing the United States for NABO.
The competition will be held October 20th thru October 26, 2019.
