CLUB RENOVATION

The Chino Basque Club has started renovations to add a
wheelchair-
accessible  bathroom.  

This bathroom’s entrance will be in the hallway across from the existing
women’s bathroom and will be
directly behind the bar.
If you would like to donate to this project please earmark your donation
for the “Building Fund.”
NABO MUS FINALS

Forty-five teams competed in Homedale, ID on Saturday, June 1, 2018.
The winners will represent the United States in Macachin, Argentina.
First Place:  Frank Vargas and Tiburcio Sarratea
from Santa Rosa Basque Club, Paradise Valley, NV.
Second Place:  Juan Egana and Jose Mari Artiach
from Txoko Ona, Homedale, ID.

CBC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DUE BY JULY 15, 2018

The Chino Basque Club offers scholarships to children of Chino Basque Club
members who attend or plan on attending a 4-year college.

CHINO’S OLD SCHOOLHOUSE MUSEUM

Chino’s Old Schoolhouse Museum welcomes additions to its display showcasing the contributions Basques have made to the Chino area, such as:
photos of or objects related to Basque-owned dairies,
restaurants or other businesses, picnic posters or booklets, dance costumes,
old instruments (accordions, txistus, bugles) songbooks,
missals, sheet music, music recordings or videos,
documents related to immigration (ship or flight manifests, naturalization papers),
artwork, books, household items, letters from home.
If you are willing to loan such items to the museum for this display, please contact
Lori Fritsch or Lillian Urena, (909) 334-3278
 or drop by at 5493 B St., Chino
Wednesdays and Thursdays (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
2nd Saturday of the Month (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
The display will continue through Labor Day, our 50th Anniversary Picnic.

CARMELO URZA SCHOLARSHIP

A $2,000 scholarship is available for students attending the USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium) in Bilbao or San Sebastian.
Application Deadline for Spring, 2019:  November 1, 2018

GAZTEMUNDU

The Counsel of the Basque Government has funding for a “Gaztemundu Program.”
This year the program will be open to dance instructors.
Any individual interested must be between the ages of 18 and 34
and they must also be a member of a Basque Club.
This program will take place September 1 through the 16th, it is always in the Basque Country.  The flights, room and board are covered .
