Help Us Build the National Basque WWII Veterans Memorial
The National Basque WWII Veterans Memorial will honor the more than 2,160 men and women of Basque descent who served in every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces — including the Merchant Marine — during World War II. It will be the first memorial of its kind in the country, honoring Basque American veterans from across the U.S. diaspora.
The memorial will be built at Heritage Park in Gardnerville, Nevada, with the conceptual design approved by the Gardnerville Town Board this year. The site will display the names of all identified Basque WWII veterans, paired with a digital memorial where visitors can access each veteran’s personal and military history.
Your financial support is essential to complete this memorial and ensure its long-term upkeep once built. Every donation is tax-deductible through the Educational Fund of North American Basque Organizations, Inc. (EIN: 82-0489192). Donors giving more than $1,000 will be recognized on a donor wall (unless they prefer to remain anonymous).
